Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” Headed to Radio as New Single (Updated)

Update: Republic’s radio team now confirms a November 10 Hot AC impact date for Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space.”

The label does not yet list “Blank Space” in its pop portfolio, but it is surely set to impact that radio format as well.

“Blank Space” will follow “Shake it Off” as the second official single from Swift’s “1989.”

==========

Depending on the version of “1989” they purchased, Taylor Swift fans will spend the next days sampling thirteen or sixteen new tracks from the popular music sensation.

Based on that sampling, they will determine which ones to put on their personal, long-term playlists.

Radio, however, apparently already knows which one it will soon begin regularly spinning.

A posting under the hot adult contemporary section of Republic’s radio promotions website suggests that “Blank Space” (incorrectly referenced as “Blank Spaces,” however) will soon impact the format. Assuming it was not posted in error, the listing confirms “Blank Space” as the follow-up to Swift’s multi-format mega-hit “Shake it Off.”

Additional support for the story comes from Top 40/pop station DC 107.3, which referred to the song as Swift’s “new single” in a Tweet Monday.

As of press time, “Blank Space” was the best-selling of the previously unreleased “1989” tracks.
