She did not wait for Billboard’s formal announcement before declaring that her “Fancy” went #1 on the Hot 100 this summer. She did not wait for NBC’s formal announcement before revealing that she would be performing on “Saturday Night Live.”
Iggy Azalea breaks her own news. And it should therefore come as no surprise that she apparently beat ABC and the award organizers announcing a performance at the upcoming American Music Awards.
Cognizant of criticism her “Beg for It” collaborator MØ received following Saturday’s “SNL” performance, Azalea Tweeted, “Hey @MOMOMOYOUTH – I know ur amazing, thats why i picked u! Everyone will see this at the AMAs, but 1st lets get you molded for IN-EARS! :).”
The continued support for MØ is admirable, but the real takeaway from Azalea’s Tweet is the apparent confirmation of a “Beg for It” performance at the American Music Awards.
Up for six American Music Awards, Azalea will be the most-nominated artist at the November 23 ceremony.
