Ratings: “Gracepoint” Avoids Fall, Stays Low (Updated)

Update: Despite airing against a stronger football game and receiving lead-in support from a mere re-run of “Bones,” FOX’s “Gracepoint” matched last week’s 0.8 18-49 rating in the 9PM hour Thursday.  Its viewership clocked in at 3.52 million.

The same 0.9 was delivered by the 8PM “Bones” re-run, which drew a total of 4.35 million viewers.

On a percentage basis, FOX’s “Gracepoint” has proven resonant with time-shifters.

Unfortunately, the overall interest level in the “Broadchurch” remake remains low. And the live broadcast audience remains very small.

While episode four of “Gracepoint” avoided a third straight decline, it did enjoy a rebound in the overnight household ratings. Thursday’s installment matched last week’s 2.2 overnight household rating.

It might not be in numerical form, but there is one clear positive about Thursday’s performance: the show held steady in the overnights despite receiving reduced lead-in support. Last week’s episode benefited from an original “Bones” (4.1 overnight household rating), but this week’s installment aired out of a re-run (2.8 overnight household rating).

The stability also came despite airing against a particularly high-profile Thursday Night Football game between the Chargers and Peyton Manning-led Broncos.
