Earlier this week, Jason Aldean’s “Old Boots, New Dirt” claimed the number one position on the Billboard 200.
Sunday evening, lead single “Burnin’ it Down” will be officially declared the #1 song at country radio.
Aldean’s track rises to the #1 position on the latest Mediabase country airplay chart. Per a Sunday morning update (which could be subject to slight revision on the official Sunday evening chart), “Burnin'” earned 7,780 spins during the October 12-18 tracking period. Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt,” which won last week’s race, claims the runner-up position with 7,464.
“Burnin’ it Down” also wins from an audience standpoint. The song’s weekly impression count of 56.72 million bests the 54.02 million earned by “Dirt.”
Other top five country radio singles this week include Sam Hunt’s “Leave the Night On” (#3), Blake Shelton’s “Neon Light” (#4) and Chase Rice’s “Ready Set Roll” (#5). The latter re-enters the top five after being bumped to #6 last week.
