Maroon 5’s “Animals” is the Greatest Gainer at Pop, Hot AC

While it was never a sales or buzz powerhouse, Maroon 5’s lead “V” single “Maps” was very successful at radio. A #1 hit at hot adult contemporary and a Top 5 pop record, it set the bar high for follow-up “Animals.”

Thus far, the song is embracing the challenge.

According to Mediabase, the latest Maroon 5 single claims the greatest gainer label at both pop and Hot AC radio this week.

At pop, “Animals” enjoyed a week-over-week spin gain of 1,596. That increase fueled a total of 5,844 spins for the October 5-11 tracking period and positions the song at #15 on the airplay chart.
