Ratings: NBC’s “Bad Judge” Steady, “A to Z” Falls (Updated)

Update: Portrayed unfairly in the overnight household ratings, new NBC comedy “Bad Judge” held steady in the adults 18-49 demographic.

The second episode matched the premiere’s 1.3 adults 18-49 rating. Viewership, however, slid from 5.84 million to 5.20 million.

Stability was not, however, the name of the game for “A to Z.” Episode two traded away 17% of its premiere week adults 18-49 audience to settle at a 1.0 in the demo. It drew 3.64 million viewers.

Earlier in the night, NBC offered “The Biggest Loser” (1.2, 4.61 million). It filled the 10PM hour with “Parenthood” (1.3, 4.26 million).

============
Last week, new comedies “Bad Judge” and “A to Z” proved that they were not the series to help NBC restore the “Must-See” feel to its Thursday night lineup.

This week, they delivered even weaker ratings.

New 9PM comedy “Bad Judge” followed last week’s 4.4 overnight household rating with a 3.7. Lead-out “A to Z,” which began its run at a weaker 3.3, took an even steeper fall to a mere 2.5 this week.

Even if not quite as sizable in the adults 18-49 demographic, the mere existence of week two drops makes the outlook bleaker for series that already started at the base of an uphill battle.

NBC also offered “The Biggest Loser” (3.0 overnight household rating) and “Parenthood” (2.9).
