Two of 2014’s radio fixtures will join forces on an upcoming edition of ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Sadly, their union will not bring forth a duet.
It will instead be for the purpose of announcing the 2014 American Music Awards nominees.
ABC confirmed this week that Charli XCX and Jason DeRulo will reveal nominees for five AMA categories on the Monday, October 13 edition of its “GMA” morning program. The announcement will come shortly before 9AM ET, at which point the entire list of nominees will be revealed on TheAMAs.com.
The awards ceremony itself will then air at 8PM ET on November 23.
DeRulo and XCX approach next Monday’s “GMA” broadcast as two of the hottest names in music. DeRulo has enjoyed a career year courtesy the success of singles “Talk Dirty,” “Wiggle” and “Trumpets,” while Charli XCX reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100–and scored the Song of the Summer distinction–for her “Fancy” collaboration with Iggy Azalea. Her solo release “Boom Clap” recently spent multiple weeks atop the pop radio airplay chart.
