=============
The target of rave reviews and the source of a smash hit in “Habits (Stay High),” Tove Lo’s debut album “Queen of the Clouds” got off to a decidedly modest start on the album sales chart.
According to Hits Daily Double, the Swedish singer-songwriter’s buzzworthy album garnered an opening week sales total of approximately 20,119. Positioned at #13 on the Hits Daily Double chart, it should also appear within the #10-#15 range on the more authoritative Billboard 200.
Shy of the ~25,000 mark achieved by BANKS’ similarly buzzworthy “Goddess” last month, the “Queen of the Clouds” total nonetheless bests the opening sales count of Icona Pop’s 2013 LP “This Is…Icona Pop.”
Like “Queen of the Clouds,” that album came from a Swedish act (albeit a duo) and featured a top ten Hot 100 hit (“I Love It” in the case of the Icona Pop album).
