Ratings: “Selfie” Falls 25%, “Manhattan Love Story” Down 40% (Updated)

Update 2: Per final live + same-day broadcast data, the second installment of ABC’s “Selfie” posted a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating with 3.99 million viewers.

It trails the premiere episode by 25% in both the adults 18-49 demographic and in total viewership.

Not notably adjusted in the finals, episode two of “Manhattan Love Story” drew a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 3.27 million viewers. Its two numbers trailed those of the premiere by 40% and 31%, respectively.

ABC also aired “Agents of SHIELD” (1.7 adults 18-49 rating and 4.73 million viewers) and “Forever” (1.3 rating, 5.35 million viewers).

===============================

Update: ABC’s new comedies “Selfie” and “Manhattan Love Story” took colossal tumbles in the ratings this week.

After posting a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating with 5.31 million viewers last week, the former delivered a mere 1.1 with 3.90 million viewers in week two. “Manhattan” fared even worse, trading away 40% of its premiere adults 18-49 audience and 32% of its viewership to settle at a 0.9 with 3.20 million viewers.

Insofar as ABC’s programs have been enjoying unusually frequent, positive adjustments in the final Nielsen report, it is likely the week-over-week declines are presently being overstated. Final data containing any applicable adjustments will be released by 6PM.

But no feasible adjustment will be enough to change reality: both comedies did fall from their already underwhelming premiere numbers.

ABC followed its comedies with “Agents of SHIELD” (1.6, 4.39 million) and “Forever” (1.3, 5.13 million).

==========

After premiering softly, new ABC comedies “Selfie” and “Manhattan Love Story” fell to even less rosy ratings levels in week two.

Down 22% from last week’s mark, “Selfie” posted a 2.9 overnight household rating this week. Whether the episode two blues will take the same bite out of the adults 18-49 and total viewership numbers, which came in at 1.6 and 5.31 million last week, remains to be seen, but it is clear “Selfie” did not hook everyone who watched the premiere.

Lead-out “Manhattan Love Story” took an even bigger tumble Tuesday. The show’s 2.3 overnight household rating marked a decline of 28% from the premiere number.

Last week’s 3.2 overnight household rating translated into a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating with 4.70 million viewers.

This week’s adults 18-49 and total viewership data will be available by noon.

— ABC followed its new comedies with “Agents of SHIELD” (at a series low 3.0 overnight household rating) and “Forever” (down to a 3.6 overnight household rating).
