Ratings: “Gotham” Endures 11% Drop in Week Three (Updated)

Update: Down 11% from last week’s number, the third episode of FOX’s “Gotham” posted a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating.  Its viewership average of 6.36 million trailed the 7.45 million drawn by last week’s episode.

FOX followed “Gotham” with “Sleepy Hollow” (1.7 rating, 4.46 million).

=======

An immensely popular DVR option and of particular interest to viewers in the adults 18-49 demographic, new drama “Gotham” continues to look like a solid performer for FOX.

It is, however, losing some steam from a live broadcast perspective. After enduring a decline of 7% in the week two overnights, “Gotham” fell an additional 13% for its latest broadcast.

This week’s 4.6, which represents a modest to-date decline of 19% from the premiere’s 5.7, should still translate to a respectable adults 18-49 number.

As such, the latest drop in no way threatens the show’s favorable standing. In order to justify a ‘hit’ label, “Gotham” will, however, need to soon locate a point of stability.

— FOX followed “Gotham” with its deflated “Sleepy Hollow” (3.1 overnight household rating).
