Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” Surges Into iTunes Top 10, Hits #19 at Pop

Boosted at pop radio by the iHeartRadio “On the Verge” program, Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” could not point to initial airplay as an irrefutable barometer of success.

It can, however, point to sizzling iTunes sales as proof that fans are reacting favorably to what they are hearing (of course, buzz over his Mark Wahlberg-inspired underwear shoot certainly did not hurt matters).

As of press time, Jonas’ “Jealous” is up to #7 on the iTunes all-genre single sales chart. And insofar as it is currently #19 on Mediabase’s pop radio airplay chart, it is outselling several tracks that are receiving more mainstream airplay.

The only tracks that are both ahead of “Jealous” on iTunes and commanding more airplay are Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” (#1 on iTunes, #1 at pop), Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” (#2 on iTunes, #2 on pop), Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” (#3 on iTunes, #5 at pop) and Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” (#5 on iTunes, #8 at pop).

Other songs currently within the iTunes Top 10 are Maroon 5’s surging “Animals” (#4), Carrie Underwood’s new “Something in the Water” (#6), Jason DeRulo’s “Trumpets” (#8), Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be (featuring Jess Glynne)” (#9) and One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” (#10).
