Fergie’s “LA Love (la la)” Hits Top 40 for Pop Audience

While Fergie’s new “LA Love (la la)” missed the Top 40 of Mediabase’s weekly pop radio airplay chart by a single position (a gap it had already closed by Monday’s rolling chart), it successfully enters that portion of the Billboard Pop Songs chart.

Per Billboard, Fergie’s new single debuts at #39 on the audience-driven contemporary hits radio listing.  “LA Love” becomes Fergie’s first non-Black Eyed Peas appearance on the chart since David Guetta’s “Gettin’ Over You,” on which she was featured, peaked at #24 in 2010.

“LA Love” did not, however, rank as the week’s strongest debut on the Billboard Pop Songs chart.  One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” (#27), Nico and Vinz’ “In Your Arms” (#28) and Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” (#30) all arrive on the chart in a better position than the new Fergie song.

Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” rules over the Pop Songs chart for a third straight week.
