Taylor Swift Officially Confirmed as “The Voice” Adviser

The entertainment world’s worst-kept secret is officially out.

NBC officially announced Thursday that Taylor Swift, as had long been rumored, will serve as a key adviser during the “Knockout Rounds” portion of this season’s “The Voice.” She will help coach contestants from all four teams in advance of their knockout performances.

Timed to align with the release of her new album “1989,” the gig replicates the one filled by Chris Martin during last season’s “The Battles: Round Two.” At the time, his band Coldplay was launching new album “Ghost Stories.”

“Swift advised each of the performers during the upcoming Knockout Rounds (airing Oct., 27, 28 and Nov. 3) on vocal technique, stage presence and the importance of tailoring songs to fit their personalities and strengths,” says NBC of the role. “These artists will continue to try and earn the support of their respective coaches, who will be forced to decide who will move on to the live Playoff Round. Each coach will have the opportunity to strategically steal one more artist in the Knockout Round.”
