Update: It was not a ratings juggernaut, but CBS’ “Stalker” premiere did emerge as its timeslot’s most-watched and best-rated broadcast.
Wednesday’s series opener drew a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating with 9.05 million viewers. Both figures easily bested those delivered by NBC’s “Chicago PD” and ABC’s “Nashville”
Earlier in the night, CBS offered “Survivor” (2.4, 9.49 million) and “Criminal Minds” (2.7, 11.65 million).
========
Neither a clear hit nor an obvious flop, CBS’ critically panned “Stalker” premiered to a respectable–but unspectacular–overnight rating.
It, nonetheless, had no difficulty winning its 10PM timeslot in the overnight household ratings race.
Leading out of “Criminal Minds,” which drew a 7.5 overnight household rating for the debut of new cast member Jennifer Love-Hewitt, “Stalker” delivered a 6.0. It topped NBC’s “Chicago PD” (4.3) and “Nashville” (3.9).
Whether “Stalker” achieved a similar margin of victory in the adults 18-49 demographic remains to be seen. Ratings for that demo, as well as total viewership, will be available by noon.
Earlier in the night, CBS offered “Survivor.” It drew a 5.8 overnight household rating.
