Ratings: ABC’s “Forever” Tanks 22% in Week Two (Updated)

Update: Per the final broadcast ratings, Tuesday’s edition of ABC’s “Forever” drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating with 5.69 million viewers.

The numbers were down 22% and 17%, respectively, from those produced by last Tuesday’s timeslot premiere.

Last week, ABC’s “Forever” achieved the rare feat of growing from night one to night two of its premiere.  It followed a 1.7 for its Monday night premiere telecast with a 1.8 in its regular, Tuesday at 10PM timeslot.

Wave goodbye to any optimism generated by that achievement.

The freshman ABC drama endured a massive decline Tuesday night.  The latest episode drew a mere 1.3 adults 18-49 rating with 5.60 million.  The figures were down by 28% and 18%, respectively, from those generated by last Tuesday’s broadcast.

While the show did receive lighter lead-in support from “Agents of SHIELD” (down from a 2.1 with 5.98 million last week to a 1.7 with 4.54 million this week), the hope was that “Forever” had established a stickier, more independent level of interest across its first two episodes.
