Nickelback, Maroon 5, Sam Smith Rank as Hot AC’s Most-Added

Hot AC radio programmers offered warm welcomes to new singles from a pair of pop-rock veterans this week.

According to Mediabase, Nickelback’s “What Are You Waiting For” and Maroon 5’s “Animals” ranked as the format’s most-added this week.

“Waiting,” the debut pop/mainstream single from the Canadian powerhouse’s upcoming “No Fixed Address,” landed at a whopping 29 monitored Mediabase stations this week. “Animals,” the follow-up to Maroon 5’s #1 Hot AC single “Maps,” earned adds from 20.

Also making waves this week was Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One.” The singer-songwriter’s latest “In the Lonely Hour” single earned adds from 17 Hot AC radio programmers.

Nico and Vinz’ “In Your Arms” and OneRepublic’s “I Lived” followed as fourth- and fifth-most-added with respective add counts of 13 and 12 stations.

Other popular additions this week included Colbie Caillat’s “Try” (6th, 11 monitored adds), Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” (6th, 11 monitored adds), Ella Henderson’s “Ghost” (8th, 10 monitored adds), Katy Perry’s “This is How We Do” (9th, 9 monitored adds), Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be (featuring Jess Glynne)” (10th, 8 monitored adds) and Vance Joy’s “Riptide” (10th, 8 monitored adds).
