After spending two weeks in the grip of Lady Antebellum’s “Bartender,” the number one spot on Mediabase’s country radio airplay chart belongs to a new song.
Kenny Chesney’s “American Kids” is that song.
The lead single from Chesney’s “The Big Revival” reaches #1 on the strength of 7,906 spins during the September 7-13 tracking period. The Lady Antebellum song slips all the way to #6.
Dustin Lynch’s “Where it’s At” rises one place to number two. It received 7,711 spins during the aforementioned seven day period.
Cole Swindell’s “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight” (#3), Luke Bryan’s “Roller Coaster” (#4) and Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt” (#5) claim the remaining positions in the top five. Like “Kids” and “Where it’s At,” each song is up one spot over last week.
