Taylor Swift’s new single might have slipped to #2 on the weekly Billboard Hot 100, but today’s radio update will help her “Shake it Off.”
Per Mediabase, the lead single from Swift’s “1989” is now one of pop radio’s five most-played songs.
The recipient of 12,309 spins, “Shake it Off” was pop radio’s #4 song during the period between September 4 and September 10. It commanded 80.61 million audience impressions within that window.
The song’s ascent into the Top 5 was facilitated by the decline of Sam Smith’s former #1 “Stay with Me.” The song slips two spots on Thursday’s edition of the rolling airplay chart.
Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” continues to rule at #1, while Meghan Trainor’s #2 “All About That Bass” and Maroon 5’s #3 “Maps” claim the other spots ahead of Swift’s “Shake it Off.” Ariana Grande’s “Break Free (featuring Zedd)” holds the #5 position.
A multi-format hit, “Shake” is currently #6 at hot adult contemporary, #13 at adult contemporary and #43 at rhythmic.
