Tove Lo’s “Habits” Blasts Into Top 20 at Pop, Top 40 at Hot AC

Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” has been seemingly committed to reaching the Top 20 on as many charts as possible this week.

Following its ascent into the Top 20 on the iTunes single sales chart and its climb to #20 on the latest Billboard Hot 100, the singer-songwriter’s breakthrough hit advances two places to #19 on Mediabase’s rolling pop radio airplay chart.

With 5,174 spins between August 30 and September 5, “Habits” finally had the airplay needed to storm past Katy Perry’s “This is How We Do” and Kiesza’s “Hideaway.” Following the Tove Lo song’s ascent, those tracks slip to #20 and #21 on the rolling chart.

Based on pop radio airplay during the August 31-September 6 window, Mediabase’s official weekly chart will not debut until Sunday evening. “Habits” should have no difficulty maintaining its Top 20 standing through that update.

“Habits” is the latest to benefit from iHeartRadio’s “On the Verge” program, which provides guaranteed Clear Channel airplay to songs from unestablished artists. Previous program selections include Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be (featuring Jess Glynne)” and Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy.”

— It will also make its official debut within the Top 40 of Mediabase’s Hot AC chart this week. “Habits” is up to #40 as of Saturday’s rolling chart.
