Already added and promoted by a significant number of country radio stations last week, there was only so much noise Blake Shelton’s “Neon Light” could conceivably make in conjunction with its official August 25 impact.
But while that reality might have limited the total number of adds “Neon Light” could score this week, it did not prevent the song from again dominantly reigning as the country format’s most-added track.
According to Mediabase, an additional 65 monitored stations picked up the song this week. The impressive add count nearly doubles that for Chris Young’s new “Lonely Eyes,” which ranked as second-most-added with 33 monitored station pickups.
Already a Top 25 hit on Mediabase and a Top 20 hit on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, “Neon Light” will leverage the latest round of adds to continue its furious race to #1.
Darius Rucker’s new “Homegrown Honey” followed the Young song with 27 monitored adds, while Justin Moore’s “Home Sweet Home (featuring Vince Neil)” and Dan + Shay’s “Show You Off” also ranked among the five most-added with 15 and 14 monitored adds, respectively.
Other players this week included Montgomery Gentry’s “Headlights” (14 monitored adds, 6th-most-added), Jake Owen’s “What We Ain’t Got” (12 monitored adds, 7th-most-added), Keith Urban’s “Somewhere in My Car” (12 monitored adds, 7th-most-added), Maddie and Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song” (12 monitored adds, 7th-most-added) and Chase Bryant’s “Take it on Back” (11 monitored adds, 10th-most-added).
