Dierks Bentley’s “Drunk on a Plane” Stays #1, Blake Shelton Debuts at #25

For the first time in several weeks, a country song repeats at #1 on Mediabase’s country airplay chart.

Dierks Bentley’s “Drunk on a Plane,” that song, narrowly holds off Tim McGraw’s “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s (featuring Faith Hill)” to earn a second week atop the Mediabase chart.

While the McGraw song actually earned eight more spins during the August 17-23 tracking period, “Drunk on a Plane” scored enough chart points to repeat at #1.

For the seven days ending August 23, it received 7,882 spins and 56.02 million audience impressions. Last week, it claimed #1 with 7,622 spins and 54.96 million audience impressions.

The recipient of 7,890 spins between August 17 and 23, McGraw’s #2 “Meanwhile” earned 55.44 million audience impressions during that period.

The balance of the top 5 includes Lady Antebellum’s “Bartender” (#3), Kenny Chesney’s “American Kids” (#4) and Dustin Lynch’s “Where it’s At” (#5).

Other movers this week:

— Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” rockets four places to a new high of #12.

— Frankie Ballard’s “Sunshine & Whiskey” enters the Top 20 at #19.

— Keith Urban’s “Somewhere in My Car” advances three places to #23.

— Blake Shelton’s new “Neon Light” debuts at #25.

— Chase Bryant’s “Take it on Back,” which is iHeartRadio’s new “On the Verge” track, rises to #30.
