Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” Hits #16 at Pop, Sia Goes Top 10

The pattern of reporting on two major pop radio moves–one for Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” one for another artist’s single–continues.

This time, “Shake it Off” bumps up another three places on the rolling airplay chart. Per Mediabase, its 5,294 pop radio spins between Monday afternoon’s debut and the end of Thursday positioned it as the 16th-most-played song for the entire week between August 15 and 21.

Its audience impression count of 37.20 million also ranks as the 16th-largest.

While the Swift song continues to soar at radio–it once again picked up more than 1000 daily pop spins–it will likely be stuck in this slot for at least one day. Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang,” which claims the #15 position, leads by 1,555 weekly play.

If both songs maintain their current pace, the Swift song should, however, be able to overtake “Bang Bang” by Sunday, which is when Mediabase issues its “official” weekly airplay chart.

— “Shake it Off” meanwhile jumps to #20 at Hot Adult Contemporary on the strength of 1,903 spins.

— The non-Swift song on the move today is Sia’s “Chandelier,” which overtakes Ariana Grande’s “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea)” for the #10 slot at pop radio. Its spin count between August 15 and August 21 clocked in at 8,658.
