Rising Star’s Audrey Kate Geiger Wins West Coast Save

It is official: the final round of ABC’s “Rising Star” features two male and two female contestants.

Audrey Kate Geiger, not Joshua Peavy or Maneepat Molloy, received the week’s sole “west coast save.” She advances to next week’s finale, where she will compete against Austin French, Jesse Kinch and Dana Williams.

Like last week’s race between Maneepat Molloy and Shameia Crawford, only one percentage point separated the two performers most competitively vying for the save. Like last week’s race, the contestant who scored lower during the live broadcast ended up earning the reprieve from those watching the west coast broadcast.

Geiger, who performed “Killing Me Softly with His Song,” scored 69% during the initial broadcast and then 68% during the second, tape-delayed airing. Joshua Peavy, whose “What Hurts the Most” earned a more impressive 72% during the inaugural airing, received just 67% of the west coast vote.

Since only the west coast vote total counts towards the save, Geiger, not Peavy, will be advancing to the finals.

Molloy, the recipient of last week’s save, was not in the mix this week. Her “Chandelier” received just 27% during the first airing and 34% in broadcast number two.
