Meghan Trainor is #1 for Sales; Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” Moves 141K

Utterly predictable given her week-long stint at #1 on iTunes, Meghan Trainor rises to the top of Billboard’s Digital Songs chart.

Her breakthrough hit “All About That Bass,” which last week entered the Top 10 on the Hot 100, led the digital chart with a weekly paid download count of 197,000. Up 17% from last week’s total, the number offered “Bass” considerable separation from the week’s second-best seller.

Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang,” that song, moved 141,000 copies in its second week. That represented a 39% decline from the song’s inaugural week total of 230,000.

Courtesy new release “Anaconda,” Minaj also appears in the #3 position. Her buzzworthy new track also moved about 141,000 copies in its first frame.

In claiming the #2 and #3 positions, Minaj becomes the first female artist with a pair of Top 3 sellers since Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “Ronan” claimed the top two spots in September 2012.

Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” (123,000) and MAGIC!’s “Rude” (122,000) completed the top five.

Other top ten sellers included Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” (#6, 107,000), Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)” (#7, 106,000), Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)” (#8, 98,000), Maroon 5’s “Maps” (#9, 97,000) and Sia’s Chandelier” (#10, 91,000).
