Country radio’s weekly shuffle continues.
After living in the shadow of Billy Currington’s “We are Tonight” on last week’s edition of the published Mediabase country airplay chart, Lee Brice’s “I Don’t Dance” rises to #1 on this week’s chart.
With 7,820 spins between August 3 and August 9 and an audience of 56.72 million, “Dance” held off Dierks Bentley’s “Drunk on a Plane.” The Bentley single, which could hit #1 next week, earned 7,401 weekly spins with 53.15 million audience impressions.
Other moves on the official, published edition of the Mediabase country chart:
— Tim McGraw’s “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s (featuring Faith Hill)” jumps into the Top 5 this week. Other top five songs include the aforementioned “Dance” and “Drunk,” Lady Antebellum’s “Bartender” (#3) and Brad Paisley’s “River Bank” (#4).
— While nothing new enters the Top 10 this week, the latest releases from Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan are knocking on the door. Their respective hits “Dirt” and “Roller Coaster” claim the #11 and #12 positions.
— Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” jumps four places to #19.
— Big & Rich’s “Look at You” reaches #25.
— David Nail’s “Kiss You Tonight” rises one spot to reach #30.
— RaeLynn’s “God Made Girls” and Hunter Hayes’ “Tattoo” both reach the Top 40 this week. RaeLynn’s tune rises three places to #39, while Hayes’ latest “Storyline” single jumps four places to #40.
— Most notably making waves outside the Top 40 is Thomas Rhett’s new “Make Me Wanna.” It rises to #50 with an additional 231 weekly spins.
