Maddie & Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song” Sales Hit 26K

Based on current iTunes trending, Maddie and Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song” has only just begun to make its commercial mark.

It nonetheless already has a respectable number of sales under its belt.

According to Big Machine, the duo’s debut track garnered more than 26,000 paid downloads during its first two weeks of availability. And insofar as it is steadily moving higher on iTunes–it is currently at a new peak of #56 on the store’s overall sales chart–that total will grow rapidly in the weeks to come.

Not looking to be defined strictly by its performance on iTunes, the song has also made impressive early splashes on YouTube/Vevo and country radio.

The official music video for “Girl in a Country Song” crossed the 1 million views mark in just four days (the viewership count is currently at almost 1.3 million), while the song is already #45 on Mediabase’s country airplay chart.

And with 21 monitored Mediabase adds to supplement last week’s format-best 32 (and 17 pre-impact adds), its growth at country radio is poised to accelerate.
