Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” Debuts at #19 on Country Airplay

While its splash was not as significant as that made by Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt,” Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” still got off to a very impressive start on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

According to Billboard, the latest Aldean tune, which is still #1 on iTunes, scored the country radio format’s 19th-largest audience during its debut week. It, obviously, ranked as the week’s strongest newcomer.

Earlier this month, Florida Georgia Line’s new single “Dirt” debuted at #16 on the airplay chart following its first week of availability.

In addition to debuting well on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, “Burnin’ it Down” also got off to a strong start on Mediabase’s country chart. It was the week’s 27th-most-played song on the country stations monitored by Mediabase.

Attention will now turn to the song’s appearances on the upcoming Billboard Hot Digital Songs, Hot Country Songs and Hot 100 charts. Considering it has not left the #1 spot since first ascending the iTunes single sales chart last Tuesday, it should have no problem scoring a #1 debut on Digital Songs.

The combination of strong digital sales and strong first-week airplay should then catapult the song into one of the top spots on Hot Country Songs and a very strong opening slot on the Hot 100.
