The Pretty Reckless’ “Messed Up World” Goes Top 10 at Rock

Earlier this year, The Pretty Reckless’ “Heaven Knows” tied Joan Jett’s record on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

Follow-up single “Messed Up World” (titled “Fucked Up World” on the uncensored album) is making an impressive run of its own.

Number twelve on the most recent edition of Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart, the song is now in the Top 10 on Mediabase’s rolling active rock airplay chart.

According to Mediabase, the song’s 1,057 active rock spins made it the format’s 10th-most-played song over the seven days ending July 25. It garnered 2.53 million audience impressions via those spins.

Currently the third-fastest-rising song at active rock radio (tied with Nothing More’s #2 “This is the Time” and behind only Weezer’s #32 “Back to the Shack” and Chevelle’s #15 “Hunter Eats Hunter”), “Messed Up World” will only move higher in the coming weeks.

It should, in fact, reach #9 within the next few days.

As “Messed Up World” makes an impact at active rock, predecessor “Heaven Knows” is garnering attention from other formats. It is currently the #24 song at alternative radio and even receiving some airplay from pop stations.

Both songs come from the band’s “Going to Hell” album.
