Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” Debuts Higher than “Dirt” at Radio

Whether it will enjoy the same monstrous first week of both sales and airplay as the Florida Georgia Line song remains to be seen, but Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” had a bigger first day of radio action than “Dirt.”

According to Mediabase, “Burnin’ it Down” lands at #38 on its rolling country radio airplay chart with 1,091 spins. Insofar as the chart ranks songs based on airplay for the trailing seven days, the fact that the Aldean tune arrived in the top 40 after one is immensely impressive.

The 1,091 spins garnered the song 10.26 million audience impressions. That audience was country radio’s 31st-largest.

Two weeks ago, Florida Georgia Line debuted at #39 after a single day of availability. It earned 993 spins and 9.65 million audience impressions.

The situation is, however, a win-win one for Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard. The performers behind “Dirt” are also co-writers on “Burnin’ it Down.”

As of press time, “Dirt” is now #16 at country radio.
