FX’s “The Bridge” Ratings Hit Series Low

After getting off to a disappointing start last week, season two of “The Bridge” followed with an even scarier performance for its second installment.

“Ghost of a Flea,” this Wednesday’s episode, drew a series low 0.3 adults 18-49 rating. Its viewership average of 1.18 million also ranks as a series low.

Last week’s season premiere episode posted a 0.5 rating with 1.50 million viewers.

Following a decently rated series premiere last July, “The Bridge” has proven unable to parlay its critical acclaim into strong viewership. The cruel reality also plagues fellow FX series “The Americans.”

That show, which receives even stronger critical marks than “The Bridge,” went as low as a 0.3 rating with 1.12 million viewers late in its second season. Thanks to the critical buzz and strong DVR numbers, it was, however, renewed for a third season.

It is unclear if those factors will also be enough to compensate for “The Bridge”‘s weak live ratings.
