Jason Mraz’ “Yes!” will not open with the same sales volume as predecessor “Love is a Four Letter Word,” but the drop-off will not be as significant as first expected.
According to revised Hits Daily Double estimates, Mraz’ new release is now tracking for a bow in the 70-75,000 range. Still down from the 102,000 opening mark for “Love,” the total keeps the artist in contention for number one.
Also in the mix for number one is Weird Al Yankovic’s “Mandatory Fun.” Right now, Hits is projecting the same 70-75,000 bow for the album. That total would represent a huge gain from the 44,000 moved by predecessor “Alpocalypse.”
While their sales forecasts have not been reduced, Rise Against’s “The Black Market” and “Kidz Bop 26” are no longer in the race for #1. They are tracking for 50-55,000 and 45-50,000, respectively.
Bleachers’ new “Strange Desire” will follow with 17-19,000 first week sales.
