Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt” Sets Country Duo Record on Hot 100

Someday, Florida Georgia Line’s new single will return to “Dirt.”

Based on the significant impact the track made in its first full week of availability, that day is distantly in the future.

The country duo’s well-received new ballad “Dirt,” which lands at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart this week, also sets the all-time record for a country duo’s debut on the Hot 100.

Fueled by a monstrous 19 million radio impressions in its first week, 2.2 million certified streams (74% from Vevo via YouTube) and 182,000 digital sales, the song starts at #11 on Billboard’s all-encompassing single chart. In the chart’s history of almost 56 years, no song from a country duo has started higher.

The song’s ascent from #40 to #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs, meanwhile, is the largest leap on the chart since its 2012 debut. Luke Bryan’s “That’s My Kind of Night” previously held the honor with a 35-1 vault during the summer of 2013.
