Rita Ora Has Big Radio Week with “Black Widow,” “I Will Never”

The tracks might not have rivaled Maroon 5’s “Maps” and Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” as the week’s most-added, but two Rita Ora songs definitely made their presence felt at pop/Top 40 radio.

According to Mediabase, Ora’s latest solo release “I Will Never Let You Down” scored a healthy 15 pop radio adds this week, including one from New York City’s powerhouse station Z100. The additional exposure should help the track, which has methodically progressed to #38 on Mediabase’s rolling top 40 airplay chart, gain steam on the format.

Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow,” which features vocals from Ora, also had a strong week. While the song’s mark thus far has primarily been made at rhythmic radio, it scored a healthy 14 pop adds this week in advance of what should be an impressive run.

LA’s powerhouse pop station KIIS and the aforementioned Z100 were among the fourteen to embrace the follow-up to Azalea’s breakthrough smash “Fancy.” And as that song continues to gain ground at pop, it promises to generate more exposure for Ora, who has thus far failed to make significant waves in the US market.
