Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” Charges Past Paramore on Top 40 Airplay Chart

What has been a career-defining run for Paramore will unfortunately not end with a visit to number one.

Consistent with Headline Planet’s projection, Paramore’s smash hit “Ain’t it Fun” was overtaken before it could reach number one on Mediabase’s Rolling Top 40 Airplay chart.

Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX),” which hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this past week, bumped “Ain’t it Fun” out of the second position on the airplay chart. It now rests ahead of “Ain’t it Fun” but behind Justin Timberlake’s reigning “Not a Bad Thing.”

Still the fastest-rising song at Top 40, “Fancy” will overtake the declining “Not a Bad Thing” in the very near future.

Azalea, who is enjoying immense success this spring, is also credited as a featured performer on Top 40 radio’s second-fastest-rising track. Ariana Grande’s “Problem,” that song, advances to #9 on Mediabase’s chart, which measures airplay for the seven days ending June 1. It will move past Ed Sheeran’s #8 song “Sing” within days.

The top ten on the Top 40 airplay chart is as follows:

1 – Justin Timberlake – Not a Bad Thing
2 – Iggy Azalea – Fancy ft. Charli XCX
3 – Paramore – Ain’t it Fun
4 – John Legend – All of Me
5 – DJ Snake & Lil Jon – Turn Down for What
6 – Rixton – Me & My Broken Heart
7 – Calvin Harris – Summer
8 – Ed Sheeran – Sing
9 – Ariana Grande – Problem ft. Iggy Azalea
10 – Jason DeRulo – Talk Dirty ft. 2 Chainz
