Hey, Paramore. “Ain’t it Fun” charting in the top ten?
After already becoming the band’s first top twenty and first top fifteen single, “Ain’t It Fun” this week becomes Paramore’s first career Top 10 on the definitive Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The song, which is still rising at radio, accomplishes the feat by gaining three places on Billboard’s weekly, all-encompassing single track chart.
The band had previously reached a peak of #24 with singles “The Only Exception” and “Still Into You.”
Paramore’s entry into the top ten, however, was not the only story on this week’s Hot 100.
Also newsworthy is the fact that John Legend’s “All of Me,” which narrowly edged Pharrell’s “Happy” and Ariana Grande’s “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea)” to earn number one on last week’s chart, stays in the peak position.
“Happy” again settles for number two.
Not fueled by quite so significant a sales total (though still the week’s best), “Problem” slips one place from last week’s #3 debut position. It hands that spot to featured artist Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX),” which continues its furious climb up the Hot 100 ladder.
Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse (featuring Juicy J)” stays at number five.
Also in the top ten: DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What” (#6), Jason DeRulo’s “Talk Dirty (featuring 2 Chainz)” (#7), Justin Timberlake’s “Not a Bad Thing” (#8), Demi Lovato’s “Let it Go” (#9) and the aforementioned “Ain’t it Fun” (#10).
