“Growing Up Fisher” Cancelled By NBC; Won’t Get 2nd Season

Only one of NBC’s post-“The Voice” comedies will see the airwaves during the 2014-15 season.

Shortly after renewing “About a Boy” for a second season, NBC opted not to continue with “Growing Up Fisher.” News of the show’s cancellation broke Friday.

While “Growing Up Fisher” routinely scored stronger ratings than renewed comedy “Parks & Recreation,” it never retained the entirety of its “About a Boy” lead-in. Not the beneficiary of glowing reviews or vast word-of-mouth, the comedy presumably did not seem like a compelling investment for NBC’s future.
