Update: The first “Storyline” sales estimates are available, and they are nowhere near as impressive as the iTunes surge suggested.

The latest release from Hunter Hayes is definitely not “Invisible” to music buyers.
“Storyline,” the follow-up to Hayes’ platinum-selling debut album, surged to number one on the iTunes Album Sales chart in the immediate wake of its release Tuesday.
A legitimate threat to the “Frozen” soundtrack’s reign atop the Billboard 200 album chart, “Storyline” is outselling new releases from acts like Lily Allen, Sarah McLachlan and Atmosphere.
As of press time, Allen’s “Sheezus” was playing runner-up to the Hayes release on iTunes. NOW 50 was in third position, while Coldplay’s “Ghost Stories” pre-order and Sarah McLachlan’s “Shine On” followed in fourth and fifth, respectively.
Other albums in the iTunes top ten included “The Music of Nashville, Original Soundtrack Season 2, Volume 2” (#6), Atmosphere’s “Southsiders” (#7), Tech N9ne Collabos’ “Strangeulation” (#8), the “Frozen” soundtrack (#9) and Lykke Li’s “I Never Learn” (#10).
