Update: “Glee” Ratings Return to Series Low for “Opening Night”

Update: Even with last week’s performance in the overnight metered market ratings, Tuesday’s “Opening Night” edition of “Glee” slipped slightly in adults 18-49.

The episode, which averaged 2.45 million viewers, slipped to a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating. That ties the show’s series low mark in the ad-friendly demographic.

Once again, “Glee” lost viewers as the episode progressed. After opening to a 1.0 with 2.7 million viewers from 8-8:30PM, it fell to a 0.9 with 2.3 million in the latter half hour.

Airing out of a “New Girl” re-run, “The Mindy Project” posted a 1.0 rating with 2.14 million viewers at 9:30PM.
==========

For the third consecutive week, FOX’s “Glee” performed at a series low level in the overnights.

Despite the build around Rachel Berry’s “Opening Night” on Broadway, Tuesday’s episode once again mustered a 2.0 overnight household rating. While there is no guarantee the episode’s adults 18-49 rating will match that delivered by last week’s episode, there is definitely no reason to believe it increased more than slightly.

Three episodes remain in the current season of “Glee,” which has seen the show effectively fall off the weekly ratings map.

FOX’s “New Girl” re-run, which led out of “Glee,” posted a 1.1 overnight household rating. A new “The Mindy Project” followed with a 1.7.
