Danielle Bradbery Scores at Country Radio, Tim McGraw Leads

It might not have been treated like an instant blockbuster, but Danielle Bradbery’s new single “Young in America” nonetheless received a warm welcome from country radio.

The season four “The Voice” winner’s latest track, which impacted the country format this week, garnered a healthy 25 station adds according to Mediabase’s weekly report.

The fourth-largest add total for the week, it suggests that Bradbery’s opportunity to transition from reality competition winner to bona fide country music star remains quite viable.

Friendly to Bradbery, country was even friendlier to Tim McGraw. The veteran’s “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s (featuring Faith Hill)” led the week with 35 new country adds.

Blake Shelton’s “My Eyes (featuring Gwen Sebastian),” which was last week’s most-added song, landed at another 31 stations this week. Dierks Bentley’s newly impacting “Drunk on a Plane” followed with 31 adds of its own.

Brad Paisley’s “River Bank,” which scored 20 adds, followed the Bradbery song as country radio’s fifth-most-added track.

Others with notable pickup counts were Thompson Square’s newly impacting “Testing the Water” (17), Scotty McCreery’s “Feelin’ It” (16), Frankie Ballard’s “Sunshine & Whiskey” (15), Zac Brown Band’s “All Alright” (15) and Chris Young’s “Who I Am With You” (12).

Dakota Bradley’s “I Won’t Be Young Forever,” which was also scheduled to impact this week, scored eight adds. It was the week’s fifteenth-most-added song.
