“Reign” Hits Series Low Ratings Sans “Vampire Diaries” Support

Update: Thursday’s edition of The CW’s “Reign” delivered series low marks in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

“Liege Lord,” the episode, posted a paltry 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with 1.23 million viewers.

Down from last week’s 0.6 rating, the number is also down from the 0.5 “Reign” posted the last time it aired out without lead-in help from an original “The Vampire Diaries.”

The 8PM “TVD” re-run drew a 0.3 with 0.84 million viewers.

Airing without support from an original “The Vampire Diaries” for the second time this season, The CW’s “Reign” returned to a series low in the overnight metered market ratings.

Matching the number it posted the first time it aired in such a scenario, “Reign” delivered a 1.1 overnight household rating. It marked a decline of two-tenths from the prior original’s 1.3 metered market number.

After scoring a 1.1 in the overnights, the 3/13 edition of “Reign,” which also lacked support from an original “Vampire Diaries” lead-in, posted a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating with 1.48 million viewers.

While “Reign” is already renewed for season two, its performance in this sort of less-than-ideal situation could influence where it gets scheduled on next year’s lineup.

This week’s 8PM encore of “TVD” drew a 0.7 overnight household rating.
