Ed Sheeran’s “Sing,” HAIM’s “Forever” Make Big Splashes at Radio

Launches rarely get better than this one.

Shortly after its official release Monday, Ed Sheeran’s new tune “Sing” surged to the upper reaches of the iTunes Single Sales chart. At press time, it was number three behind only Pharrell’s “Happy” and John Legend’s “All of Me.”

And its impact is not restricted to the digital sales realm.

According to the weekly Mediabase report, “Sing” is also the most-added song at Top 40 radio. Its 51 adds at the format give it the edge over 5 Seconds of Summer’s red-hot “She Looks So Perfect,” which picked up 44 new stations this week.

Proving itself no one-week-wonder, Nico & Vinz’ “Am I Wrong” followed last week’s blockbuster impact with another 31 Top 40 adds. The week’s third-most-added track, it bested Lady Gaga’s newly impacting “GUY” (23 adds) and Tiesto’s enduring “Red Lights” (20).

Rich with momentum after its inclusion in the Target style ads HAIM’s crossover attempt “Forever,” which impacts this week, followed with 18 top 40 adds. My Crazy Girlfriend’s new “Crazy Stupid Love” followed with 15, while Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)” picked up 14 new stations.

Afrojack’s “Ten Feet Tall (featuring Wrabel)” scored thirteen adds in conjunction with its official impact. Pitbull’s “Wild Wild Love (featuring GRL)” did the same.

Cher Lloyd’s impacting “Sirens” and MKTO’s enduring “Classic” both received 12 Top 40 adds this week.
