No, he did not win Entertainer of the Year. But it was a big night for Luke Bryan.
In addition to serving as the host of the 49th Annual ACM Awards, country’s biggest star also delivered two of the night’s most commercially resonant performances.
“Play it Again” and “This is How We Roll (a Florida Georgia Line track featuring Bryan),” Bryan’s two numbers from the show, have both moved into comfortable positions in the top ten of iTunes’ Single Sales chart.
Though red-hot prior to the show, “Play it Again” was oscillating between numbers nine and ten when the ACM Awards began. By press time, it was #3 behind Pharrell’s and John Legend’s respective multi-format juggernauts “Happy” and “All of Me.”
“This is How We Roll,” meanwhile, had fallen out of the top ten in advance of the show. It has rallied back to #4 following Sunday’s FGL-Bryan duet.
Other ACM-related songs with Top 100 positions include Eric Church’s “Give Me Back My Hometown” (#14), Shakira’s “Medicine (featuring Blake Shelton)” (#15), Hunter Hayes’ “Invisible” (#19), Rascal Flatts’ “Rewind” (#23), Miranda Lambert’s “Automatic” (#26), Dierks Bentley’s “I Hold On” (#34), Darius Rucker’s “Wagon Wheel” (#36), Blake Shelton’s “My Eyes (featuring Gwen Sebastian)” (#37), Tim McGraw’s “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s (featuring Faith Hill)” (#40), George Strait’s “I Got a Car” (#43), Justin Moore’s “Lettin’ the Night Roll” (#51), Lee Brice’s “I Drive Your Truck” (#55), Brett Eldredge’s “Beat of the Music” (#56), Jason Aldean’s “When She Says Baby” (#60), Brad Paisley’s “River Bank” (#80) and Florida Georgia Line’s “Stay” (#86).
