Party On; “Party Down South” Renewed for Season 2

It might have crossed its fair share of viewership peaks and valleys, but CMT’s “Party Down South” never lost its standing as CMT’s highest-rated original series.

It therefore earned a second season.

“PARTY DOWN SOUTH is our biggest show ever,” said Jayson Dinsmore, EVP, Development, CMT. “We knew the series would shake things up at CMT. In addition to ratings success, the show has seen the largest level of social media engagement of any previous CMT series with an incredibly dedicated, impassioned fan base. SallyAnn and 495 Productions are fantastic producers. We are proud and excited to partner with them again in order to keep the party rolling.”

That second season, which will consist of thirteen episodes, begins airing June 5. A special preview of the second season will air after the prior night’s CMT Awards ceremony.
