The CW’s “Reign” Overnight Ratings Rebound From Low

Update: After settling for a 0.5 last week, “Reign” bounced back to a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating for this Thursday’s episode.

It attracted an average of 1.61 million viewers.

Undoubtedly helpful in fueling that gain was the show’s “Vampire Diaries” lead-in. After barely registering for last week’s encore broadcast, this week’s original “TVD” posted a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating with 2.28 million viewers.

Airing without lead-in assistance from an original “Vampire Diaries,” last week’s edition of “Reign” dropped to a series low overnight household rating and tied its low in adults 18-49.

This week’s edition, which did receive support from The CW’s flagship 8PM drama, rebounded to its usual overnight level.

“The Darkness,” Thursday’s “Reign,” posted a 1.3 overnight household rating. While there is no guarantee the increase will translate to the adults 18-49 or total viewership numbers, it is unlikely that either figure moved downward this week.

“TVD,” which led into “Reign,” scored a 1.6 overnight household rating.
