Update: Both songs continued to rise following this report’s original publication date.
As of press time, Paramore’s “Ain’t it Fun” was #32 on iTunes’ single sales chart; MKTO’s “Classic” was #34.
=====
Considered the best song from the band’s self-titled fourth studio album, Paramore’s “Ain’t it Fun” is proving as appealing commercially as it was creatively.
While not yet a hit on the level of earlier “Paramore” single “Still Into You,” let alone the band’s breakthrough grabber “Misery Business” and enduring ballad “The Only Exception,” the song is beginning to make an impact in the marketplace.
After entering last week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart at #96, “Ain’t it Fun” continues to gain ground with buyers. As of press time, it had advanced to #45 on the overall iTunes Single Sales chart.
Far from a typical Top 40 song, “Ain’t it Fun” is no lock to become a truly dominant option at radio (though it was one of the ten most-added songs this week). It is, however, proving popular with those who recognize Paramore as one of the most reliable pop-acts around.
“Ain’t it Fun” was not the only buzzworthy song to advance into the iTunes Top 50. After reigning as a Top 100 option for many weeks, MKTO’s “Classic” has finally ascended into the upper half of iTunes’ sales chart. Currently #47, the song is building momentum for the duo as it approaches the North American release of its album on April 1.
Like the Paramore song, “Classic” was one of the ten most-added songs at Top 40 radio this week.
