Enjoying a week-over-week ratings gain, NBC’s flagship series “The Voice” helped propel new comedy “About a Boy” to a timeslot victory Tuesday.
Tuesday’s “Boy,” the second original episode to air, posted a strong 2.6 adults 18-49 rating with 8.71 million viewers. The David Walton vehicle reigned over popular “NCIS: Los Angeles,” fellow comedies “The Goldbergs” and “New Girl” and CW veteran “Supernatural” to claim a victory in the 9-9:30PM timeslot.
Across the entirety of primetime, it was the night’s second-best performer in adults 18-49. Only lead-in “The Voice,” which rose to a 4.0 with 14.38 million viewers.
New comedy “Growing Up Fisher,” which aired out of “Boy,” posted a 2.0 with 7.06 million viewers. “Chicago Fire” then closed NBC’s evening with a 1.9 and 7.09 million.
