“Party Down South” Ratings Fall; Viewership Reaches Series Low

The ratings seesaw continues at CMT.

Two weeks ago, CMT announced that “Party Down South” was the best-rated original series in the network’s history. Later that night, an episode of the reality show attracted a series low viewership and its worst adults 18-49 number in weeks.

Last week, it rebounded to deliver a series high in adults 18-49 and its second best total viewership number.

This week, it re-entered the race to the bottom.

Thursday’s “Party Down South,” which was free of Winter Olympics competition but positioned head-to-head with ABC’s “Scandal,” posted a paltry 0.28 adults 18-49 rating with 526,000 viewers.

Trailing the numbers set by the 2/13 “Party Down South,” which sounded alarms by drawing a 0.32 rating with just 589,000 viewers, this week’s performance establishes a new series low in total viewers.

The 0.28 adults 18-49 rating was the series’ second worst mark. Only the January 23 edition, which posted a 0.22 rating, delivered a weaker number.

Note: An earlier report on the 2/13 ratings incorrectly said the episode averaged only 500,000 viewers. That story has since been corrected to reflect 589,000, the episode’s correct viewership average. Consequently, the above story is correct in saying the 2/27 episode set a viewership low.
