It might not share the “Fire” part of its parent series’ title, but “Chicago PD” is starting to heat up at NBC.
Continuing the show’s streak of either rising or matching its previous telecast’s rating, Wednesday’s episode outdelivered the February 5 airing by a whopping 29% in the adults 18-49 demographic.
That significant rise brought “PD” to a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating, which represents a new high for the freshman series.
It also positioned “PD” within striking distance of CBS’ timeslot competitor “Criminal Minds.” Airing out of the two-hour “Survivor” premiere, “Minds” narrowly claimed the timeslot with a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.
Both series dominated ABC’s “Nashville” in the 10PM hour.
Wednesday’s “Chicago PD,” the first to air since NBC’s Olympics coverage commenced, attracted 8.03 million viewers.
