While WWE’s promotional effort is firmly focused on the launch of its upcoming Network, it is still making deals in the world of film.
Variety reported Tuesday that WWE will team with 20th Century FOX Home Entertainment on a pair of straight-to-video sequels.
One, a follow-up to the 1996 Arnold Schwarzenegger comedy “Jingle All the Way,” will star comedian Larry the Cable Guy and feature WWE wrestler Santino Marella. Alex Zamm, who directed Larry in “The Tooth Fairy 2,” will helm the “Jingle all the Way 2” project.
WWE Studios will also develop a fourth installment in its popular “The Marine” franchise. Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, who starred in the third film, will reprise his role in the upcoming film. WWE Diva Summer Rae, who will also join the “Total Divas” cast this season, will also appear in the WWE-FOX co-production.
