“The Walking Dead” Ratings Stay Hot, Midseason Premiere Beats Olympics

Interest in AMC’s flagship drama is certainly not “Dead.”

It is quite the opposite, in fact.

Despite facing the Winter Olympics, “The Walking Dead” resumed its fourth season with a mammoth 8.2 adults 18-49 rating with 15.8 million viewers.

Representing the show’s best midseason premiere to date, the numbers roughly match those set by this fall’s season premiere. That episode drew an 8.2 rating with 16.1 million viewers.

Though NBC’s Olympics coverage attracted a dominant 25.4 million viewers, its 6.9 adults 18-49 rating trailed that of “Dead” by a hefty margin.
